Description 747 AND SWIFTS MAGNET SET A 2 magnet set recreating Andrew Wyeth’s Swifts on a kitchen magnet (2″ x 3″) and 747 (detail) as a magnetic bookmark (1.5″x 3.75″). 747 presents Betsy Wyeth as the ultimate author of Brinton’s Mill, standing before the addition she designed for the family home on a property she had conceived and shaped. Despite looking like an industrial site preserved in amber from the eighteenth century, this was a modern composite design all her own. The intrusion of the modern world in the form of a jumbo jet’s contrail underlines this meeting of old and new. 747, on exhibition in Home Places: Andrew Wyeth in Chadds Ford from April into October of 2025 at the Farnsworth Art Museum is part of the Collection of the Wyeth Foundation for American Art. Swifts – First Version, was painted in 1991, watercolor on paper. Both paintings on exhibition in Home Places: Andrew Wyeth in Chadds Ford from April into October of 2025 at the Farnsworth Art Museum
